Current obsessions

I have a bad habitat of finding things and obsessing over them so I've decided to post things I absolutely fall in love with. Maybe I'll try for a weekly obsession list lol

1. Invitations. I am in love with this invitation. They are so freaking expensive but I love them so much! And they come in pink!! http://royalsteamline.com/two-ring-circus-duo/steampunk-wedding/2-duo-steampunk

2. Party photo booth couch. I saw this on a blog and thought it was a AWESOME idea!!!! (Can you tell I'm excited!! http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2011/02/amy-mannys-morocc-n-roll-backyard-wedding/

3. Last but not least...the dress. There is no way in hell I can afford this dress but that doesn't mean a girl can't dream =) http://www.ianstuart-bride.com/docs/RR_flower_bomb_.html

Location,location,location

So I'm pretty much in a holding pattern until I find a locations. For anyone who doesn't know we want to get married in the Greenville,SC area, which seems to be harder than I thought. Maybe I have too many personal requirements to meet but I want my day to be perfect.

My requirements:
-I really want outdoors (although I get a little panicky at the thought of rain).
-Also I need a place that allows outside catering because I am NOT getting stuck with some frou-frou dinner so I can starve on my wedding day. We will be doing most of the food ourselves.
-Pets allowed. PD is going to be the ring bearer so they have to allow pets.

1. Falls Park (Downtown Greenville)- http://www.fallspark.com/ I really, really wanted to get married in Falls park. However they only allow weddings in two areas of the park and so far those aren't really appealing to me. The two other downsides to the park is that the reception will have to be somewhere else and chairs will have to be rented. (But the wedding photos would be amazing)

2. Greer City Park- http://www.spinatour.com/cityofgreer/cityhall/tour.html & http://www.greercitypark.com/ As of right now this is my number one choice. It has its own natural beauty so that cuts cost for decorations for the wedding ceremony. Also it has a lot of potential for beautiful wedding pictures. It has seating at the amphitheater so that means no chair rentals. The reception area is indoors, has a cater's kitchen, and a full sound system. PD would be allowed at the wedding but he is not allowed in the reception building. I would have to find a pet sitter for the reception. I'm not crazy about the look of the reception area but maybe with the right decorations I could give it a different "feel".

3. The Davenport (Downtown Greer)- http://www.eventsatthedavenport.com/ This is an all indoor location. They have room for both the ceremony and the reception. I don't know that I'm all that crazy about having the wedding here but I still want to keep it in my options. I really wouldn't mind having the wedding at Greer City Park and the reception here.

4. My mom came up with the idea of renting a house. Like maybe on Lake Hartwell or out in the country. This idea has all sorts of benefits. No time restrictions (party all night), it would give us plenty of time to decorate, PD is allowed, and lodging for some of the "out-of-towners". We can rent a house for a week for the same price for renting the park for 12 hours!! We could have the rehearsal dinner there (maybe a cookout?). We would have to rent tables and chairs but that's not a big deal.

The only house we have found that looks semi-promising is in Landrum,SC. http://www.yellowhouselandrum.com/home.html I think the yard looks pretty from the pictures. There's a sink in every bedroom..I think that's so cool(yeah I'm a dork). Be sure to check out the Grande Bath..I'm in love.

Well that's my list of venues so far. I'm still looking...
